Allow apps to refresh in the background
Some apps will run for a short period of time before they're set to a suspended state. This means they're not actively in use, open, or taking up system resources. When you return to these apps, they'll open instantly.
Some apps can continue to run in the background. You can allow these apps to refresh themselves by turning on Background App Refresh. This settings lets apps check for new content and download updates, or retrieve updated content in the background when they receive push notifications

iPhone enables you to multitasking with certain features of your apps. The idea is to make your use of apps more intuitive and to allow you to pick up where you last left off, rather than having apps close down on you when you switch to another one. Apps are viewed as "running" or "suspended", dependent on how much the memory of the iPhone can hold. While not "true" multitasking (as that would chew up the batteries), the applications are paused while some items such as music and ability to receive calls continue "running in the background".

In iOS 7, apps that can run in the background are even more sophisticated. That's because iOS 7 is smart enough to learn how you use apps. If you usually check your social media feeds first thing in the morning, iOS 7 can learn that behavior and, in the background, update your social media apps a few minutes before you normally check them to ensure that all the latest information is waiting for you.

) για να πω "Welcome to 2012"
