The Motor Regulations 2016 set to change. The engines are to be louder, stronger and cheaper. The goal is 1,000 hp and a maximum of 10 million euros per team. An expert group must deliver results by the end of January.

Period until the end of January 2015
For the upcoming season, only small changes are made. The number of power sources per driver is now reduced but as originally planned from five to four units. Regardless of whether there are 20 or 21 races. A fifth engine had too much load on the client teams. The engine manufacturer would then have to take back their discount 500,000 to 800,000 euros again. In developing one came Ferrari and Renault contrary. Who does not succeed until February 28 to exhaust the 32 tokens (48 percent), this can make up for the season progresses.

On one point, however, all team representatives agreed. 2016 Formula 1 needs a new engine rules. Bernie Ecclestone wants stronger and cheaper engines , but on the basis of the current engine concept. Target are 1,000 hp, in the hope that the engines are so loud. One possibility would be to abandon the maximum flow rate of 100 kilograms per hour. The FIA called for these engines, the customer should not cost more than ten million euros. Better five million.

Higher performance, lower cost ? When asked how comes together, it was agreed to create a list of parts that could be standardized. More common parts means lower prices. The battery would be one of the following standard components. With a new engine formula and the limited development roadmap disappears. 2016 starting from scratch everything again. The motor heads of Mercedes , Ferrari, Renault and Honda got a clear deadline set. You must provide 2015 results by the end of January.

#54237 An open letter to Gérard Saillant (oh yeah Jean Todt too)
DECEMBER 19, 2014 / GARY HARTSTEIN
https://formerf1doc.wordpress.com/2014/ ... -todt-too/

O πρωην γιατρος της F1 Gary Harstein πλακωνεται δημοσιως με τον Τοντ και ενα απο τα τσιρακια του.

I think it’s important that people understand just how you and your boss work.
You came here to try to get me fired.
Not from the job you already fired me from. That one was basically a hobby. A very serious, very time-intensive hobby. No, now you’re aiming higher. You and your boss want me fired from the job that pays my rent. The one I’ve held for 25 years.
(...)
What you have done was not unexpected, but was thuggish and disgusting. You might wear expensive suits and a Patek Philippe, but your tactics are from the gutter.
Be aware that I’ve referred the “dossier” you handed over to the Dean to my attorney. You are on very very thin legal ice.
Word to the wise?
Shut up, back off, and watch out.

#54883 HAAS BUYS MARUSSIA HQ AND FACTORY IN UK
http://www.grandprix247.com/2014/12/24/ ... ory-in-uk/

Haas Formula 1 team, destined for the grid in 2016, has reportedly acquired Marussia’s factory in Banbury, UK.

Although the cars will be designed and manufactured at a bespoke facility alongside the Stewart-Haas Nascar team in North Carolina, owner Gene Haas has also been looking for a separate UK base for his Formula 1 outfit.

“I guess it might be a possibility to take a look at the Marussia HQ,” he told Formula 1 business journalist Christian Sylt in the Guardian last week.

Racecar Engineering is now reporting that Haas has indeed acquired the Marussia facility, having also declared his interest in bidding for some of the ailing backmarker’s assets.

The report added: “It is thought that Haas has also acquired the data and designs for the 2015 Marussia.”

EDIT:
Και η πηγη του απο πανω:

http://www.racecar-engineering.com/news ... a-factory/
Gene Haas has acquired the former Marussia F1 facility in Banbury to use has the European base for his new Grand Prix team. Haas admitted that his organisation was interested in acquiring some of the assets of the bankrupt team but the factory was not amongst the lots offered at auction in December.

Haas F1 will make its race debut in the 2016 using Ferrari power, the team has already constructed a bespoke F1 facility in North Carolina but it will likely operate out of the former Marussia facility on Overthorpe Road for the bulk of the season. It is thought that Haas has also acquired the data and designs for the 2015 Marussia.

Marussia’s remaining assets will be sold off in late January.

#55219 Hamilton to keep his 44 number for 2015
http://www.f1plus.com/en/news/item/7162 ... r-for-2015

Lewis Hamilton will not wear the coveted number 1 on his Mercedes in 2015, the FIA has announced.
"44 is my number," Hamilton said "I won my first championship with 44 in karting so I'll ask the team if I can keep it on my car now," added the 29-year-old, who even has '44' tattooed behind his right ear.
This also means that there will be no number 1 in any car this season, something that has not happen in decades.

Meanwhile, three of F1's eleven teams are listed as "subject to confirmation" on the new entry list.
It is no surprise that two of them are Caterham and Manor, the latter of which is the revised name for the team that competed in 2014 as Marussia.
But also listed as conditional is Lotus, despite the fact the official entry includes the names of drivers Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado, and Mercedes power for the Enstone team.
