#887663 Hamilton’s mysterious problem: “From 3 races I lose a tenth per lape, we hope to solve it. Ferrari third-fourth force”:

— Lewis Hamilton revealed that an unresolved technical issue has been slowing him down across the first three races of his Ferrari career, costing him over a tenth per lap. After finishing seventh at Suzuka, he expressed hope that upcoming updates would bring parity with top rivals.

“I think I did my best today, but in general it lacks performance compared to all the cars that precede me, in particular Mercedes and McLaren and obviously Red Bull.”

“We found something on the car that didn’t work in the last three races. So I really hope that once the problem is fixed I will start to get better results.”

“I’m losing a little more than a tenth per lape because of this problem so I hope it will be solved in the next races.”

“The team is aware of the problem, even if they don’t know what it depends on but, as I said, when the updates arrive we hope there will be no more and that we will return on par with the other cars.”

— Ferrari is reportedly investigating if the issue stems from ride height limitations, with updates such as a new floor potentially arriving in Bahrain.

— Despite the problem, Hamilton said his performance at Suzuka was solid under the circumstances.

“Considering what I had, I am relatively satisfied with the pace of the race, and otherwise the team’s performance was good.”

“I think Riccardo and I have done a great job, as well as the engineers and mechanics.”

“It was a rather lonely race, and I really didn’t have anyone around me.”

“The start was good considering that I was the only one with hard tires and I had to struggle to warm them up in the first laps and stay with all the other drivers who had the averages.”

“I lengthened the stint as much as I could, but in general we didn’t have the rhythm.”

— Hamilton believes Ferrari is currently trailing the top three teams.

“It seems that at the moment we are third or fourth, with Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes and then us. We have some improvements to make.”

The rumoured new upgrade that could propel Hamilton and Leclerc:

— Ferrari is expected to debut a new floor on the SF-25 in Bahrain, aiming to address early-season performance struggles and enhance the car’s balance and aerodynamic window. The upgrade follows a disappointing start that saw Hamilton’s P7 in Japan as their best result in the last two rounds.

— The new floor is designed to generate more consistent downforce at the ride heights Ferrari is currently limited to, reportedly to avoid skid block wear like that which disqualified Hamilton in China. Ferrari also hopes to shift the pressure center forward, a step meant to counter the SF-25’s persistent understeer.

— Lewis Hamilton hinted at the incoming changes after the Japanese Grand Prix, where he referenced ongoing issues within the car that affected his performance.

— Hamilton explained the challenges with his side of the garage and the upgrades expected in Bahrain.

“I’m happy I moved forwards.”

“I’m really hoping in the next race we’ll see, hopefully, some positive changes. Through the first three races, there’s been a bit of a deficit between both sides of the garage, on an element of the car, so on my side, something underperforming.”

“So it’s good to know. I mean, with what I had, that’s the best result I could get.”

— Hamilton further detailed the underperformance and his hope for progress in Bahrain.

“My pace, I think considering, as I said, I was maximum today. I didn’t have anything else in the car.”

“We’ve got underperformance happening at the rear of the car this weekend, and obviously qualifying position is key.”

“I think I probably would have been overtaken by the Mercedes if I was any further ahead, and I’m hoping the next race, we can somehow get a bit closer.”

#887912 Ferrari backscene: Leclerc took a stand on Saturday night in Suzuka:

— Tension is growing inside Ferrari as Charles Leclerc reportedly made a firm statement to team leadership on Saturday night in Suzuka. According to Corriere dello Sport, Leclerc informed Frederic Vasseur and Ferrari’s top engineers, “Enough, I’m going my way,” signaling a desire to pursue his own technical direction after qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix.

— The stance taken in Suzuka appears to reflect a growing divide in approach between Leclerc and Ferrari’s technical leadership. The Monegasque seems determined to prioritize his own setup preferences, potentially diverging from the team’s standard development path.

Τι γίνεται εδώ Δια; Μπαϊράκι σήκωσαν οι υπάλληλοι;
Έχει χάσει το πάνω χέρι ο Βασέρ στην ομάδα; Δεν τον υπολογίζει κανείς πλέον;
Πως να διοικήσεις έτσι; :(

Τί γίνεται εδώ ρε Μπάγιερν; Τόσος ντόρος για το στήσιμο του μονοθεσίου; Αφού ίδια είναι και τα 2, τί διαφορά θα κάνει δλδ ο Λεκλερκ με το δικό του setup ;

Μηπως μπερδεψες το το στησιμο με το ραψιμο?

Το στησιμο και βεβαια παιζει καταλυτικο ρολο στο πως θα συμπεριφερθει ενα μονοθεσιοο μεσα στην πιστα.

Ferrari Exclusive: the SF-25 does not work, Serra works on a new suspension!

At the sixth race Ferrari touched the lowest point of this season start with a performance away from the top. Just to give an example in qualifying the SF-25 was only 2 tenths better than the problem SF-23. Better (more tender) tires, better aero after two years of gallery work, good efficiency in terms of maximum speeds and drs, no sign of porpoising. Yet the car has hardly ever come to life except in Jeddah. A series of performances never in line with expectations while the operation on the tires remains unknown. The Maranello team went through a bad weekend where only the sprint, thanks to the weather that shuffle the cards, rewarded Hamilton once again after a move of despair. Leclerc did not even leave for the incident with the intermediates, a questionable move in terms of assessment of the conditions.

McLaren was untouchable, even Verstappen had to destroy his first stint in order to resist in vain. The heat in Miami has made the MCL39 more unbeatable than ever. It hovers the specter of a summer domain that would eliminate the motivation of the competition. Everything is in the hands of the pilots’ ability not to make mistakes.

Potential of Ferrari unusable, the simulator says that it exists but the track does not, that's why Vasseur talks about it

It is not a purely aerodynamic fact, the car simply runs with inefficient mechanical settings for the race, this is compromising the qualification. For some reason the engineers can't make the rear suspension work as it should. It could be a problem of anchors or hiking. According to what has been learned, there is a new suspension that could be combined with the last big package but the times are not known.

It is a very delicate and totally unexpected change per season in progress, not rapid, if only it indicates clearly where the problem is and which is not strictly aerodynamic in nature. The hope is that the corrections will work as a year ago, after the technical direction was suddenly vacant for Cardile’s farewell (which will take its place in Aston Martin from next July). At that moment Vasseur took the interim but was certainly caught in counterattack as he entered a delicate phase. This could be a delayed backlash, perhaps the cause of some assessments deemed insufficient on the even brave changes of the 677 project.

However, Ferrari cannot stand a long season that risks seeing it at certain moments even fifth force.

Currently in Maranello there are already two teams, one dedicated 100% to the 678 project in the process. A phase where you normally try dozens of different designs, some extremes, to establish where the areas of greatest gain are. The DT Loic Serra was in Jeddah where things worked less worse, at least for Leclerc, it wasn’t in Miami. On his shoulders the responsibility for a triple and heavy commitment: to think of a good car for next year, to cure the evil of the SF-25, to implement (a lot) the quality of the technical choices on the track.

Everyone asks the same question and is legitimate: could not the Ferrari SF-24 still be refined instead of changing it “to 99%”?

Changing the aerodynamic balance to focus more on the front axle required an absolutely different overall geometry. Putting your hand to the gearbox and the reduction of the encumbrances of the rear suspension did not pay. The trap was around the corner but could not be predicted in simulations that only gave gains without contraindications. For better or worse, Venturi cars will remain among the most unpredictable and unreadable in the history of F1.

After the stormy (in every sense) American weekend, it’s worth pointing out the words of the seven-time world champion reported by the BBC who may now seem clearer: “I think this machine really has performance. Something is holding us back at the moment, it's there, just we can't use it. “Until we have a solution for this is where we are,” Lewis Hamilton said.
