Except this was no ordinary car. We had it for a decade and, aside from the countless small improvements and modifications, the Subaru was our car. It was a bit like getting bad news about a potential big bill from the vet. Objectively, it makes little sense to spend thousands on an aging cat or dog – but you often end up doing so, anyway.
